By Moores of London. Size 63/4. This is a true tropical issue 'Wolseley' helmet with its distinctive high domed top and duckbill neck. They differ from the 'Pith' helmet that has a flatter crown and edges that curl under all the way around. Lined inside with green felt, the crown lined with 'coolair aluminex' to help keep the head temperature down. In very good condition with light soiling and some fading. Complete with a nice RAF coloured flash stitched on the puggaree. Minor damage to the aluminium foil inside right at the crown. Strap hooks remain but strap absent. The inner leather band is clearly marked with manufacturer's details, war department broad arrow mark and 1942 date. A very nice example of this helmet and an excellent display piece.
