Unknown size. R.A.F. / R.A.A.F. khaki fur felt slouch hat as issued to personnel in the Far East and Western Desert etc. Has the original puggaree band in place with sewn RAF 'flash' but the leather lining band and chinstrap are missing. This example is fitted with the press studs often used to hold one side of the brim up against the crown. A little mishaped with some soiling/stains, moth nips on the brim and a couple of holes on the crown as shown. Named to Flight Lieutenant Hubert Pierce who flew as a pilot with 216 bomber transport squadron. He was also the squadron's entertainment officer. Purchased directly from the family.
