Thermally Insulated Flying Suit, Jacket. Physically measures approximately 44” so should be suitable for around a 40” chest. This example has a four-panel front and rear. The leather is in very good overall condition retaining much of the original chromed finish and flexibility. There is minor abrasion at the backs of the arms and a few unobtrusive small repairs with a small patch (2 x 5cm) on the upper left arm area, a 3cm stitched repair at the rear of the left cuff area and a small glued (?) repair adjacent to the left seam (see photo). The only other issue is the surface finish of the binding tapes which are rather worn and cracked in places. The seams appear good and tight - some minor restitching has been done at some point. Very good dense fur lining with most still remaning at the waist. More wear at the cuffs but these are better than most jackets found. The jacket retains original D-o-T zips, all with their original leather puller tags. The belt is complete and in good condition. This example has a chain hanger, collar strap/rings, eyelets to the rear of the collar for the elastic 'collar strap' (not present) and a 1944 dated label. Overall, a good + / very good used example.
