Thermally Insulated Flying Suit, Jacket. Physically measures 48" so should be suitable for around a 44" chest. This example is of four-panel front and rear construction. The leather is in very good overall condition retaining much of the original chromed finish and flexibility. There is wear, abrasion and loss of chroming in some areas, notably the elbows and left shoulder. Aside from a repaired split near the right cuff (see photograph) there is no serious damage, other repairs or patches and the binding seams appear to be good and tight. Very good mid-length fur lining in the main body of the jacket with shorter dense fur on the collar. Both cuffs and waist retain very good fur. The main and left sleeve zips are both original Air Ministry marked 'D-o-T' brand complete with leather pulls (worn). The right sleeve zip slider is absent although the actual zip tape and teeth are very good. The belt is complete and in good condition bar surface wear. Also has the original chain hanger, collar strap / rings and eyelets to the rear of the collar for the elastic 'collar strap' (absent). With original War department broad arrow marked linen label dated 1944. Overall, a good '+' to very good used example in a large size. Further photographs available on request. Stock code J22038.
