'Thermally Insulated Flying Suit, Jacket'. Stores reference 22c/319. Size 3 (Ht. 5'7-5'8", Br. 34/36", Wt. 30/32"). Physically measures approximately 41” so should be OK for around a 37” chest. This example is of typical late war multiple panel construction. The leather is in good overall condition with many panels retaining much of the original chromed finish and good flexibility. There are no rips, tears or repairs but there is some wear and abrasion. The upper left rear panel lacks some of the chroming and feels a little thinner/weaker than most of the jacket (see photographs). One sleeve zip is original with Air Ministry slider and leather pull tag but the other zips are replacements. The lining is generally excellent and remains good at the cuffs, waist and collar. All seams appear to be good and tight. The belt has some surface wear and the collar strap has some loose stitching. With original chain hanger and War Department marked label. A good/good '+' later war example that displays very well. Stock code J24395.
