Manufactured by Irving Air Chute of Great Britain Ltd. Size Large. Dated 30th September and 4th October 1940. Commonly referred to as a 'harnessuit', this 'dual purpose' pattern has provision for both clip-on seat or chest type parachute packs. Manufactured from heavy olive drab cotton with twin front zip opening and zipped pockets. The suit is in superb clean condition without wear or damage. All of the brass buttons are present as is the detachable fabric stole that would contain the inflatable rubberized cotton stole (bladder). The inflatable stole and actual harness are not present, the latter of which never turn up. Excellent large Air Ministry and A.I.D. marked label. Chain hanger. An excellent piece of kit, useful for filling a mannequin as it removes the need for a separate parachute harness and mae-west. Very difficult to upgrade on this. Stock code S27367.
