Waistcoat, Electrically Heated, R.A.E pattern. Stores reference 22c/708. Size 1 (height 5'3 - 5'8"). Early Royal Aircraft Establishment version of the familiar electrically heated kimono jackets manufactured in pale green cotton 'kimono' jacket with integral wiring/heating element. Fitted with 2-pin plugs & metal posts at each side of the waist into which 'extension' cords could be attached, these linking to electrically heated socks/bootees. Similar plugs/posts are wired in at the cuffs to accommodate heated gloves and the electical supply cable (umbilical) is present with a 3-pin connector/plug, stores reference 5C/527. The waistcoat is in excellent clean condition with Air Ministry marked label. Extremely rare when compared to the brown RAF type D & F electrically heated jackets. Excellent used.
