By A.G. & Co. Ltd.  Rigid leather case used to contain a RAF Chaplain's portable Communion set.  Approximately  23 x 13 x 13cm with hinged lid, lockable clasp and leather carrying strap.  'Silver' embossed Air Ministry King's crown marks on the front.  Embossed with manufacturer's details, War Department broad arrow and 1943 date inside the lid.  Lined in purple velvet.  The exterior of the case is in good condition bar some wear and tear.  It would originally have had some 'dividers' inside to keep the contents separate/safe but they have been removed at some stage leaving the lining a little tatty.  Some loss of stitching on the strap (see photo 13) - an easy repair.  These sets were used on RAF stations as well as in the field and would have contained small bottles for Holy water, wine, a small chalice, silver 'tray' and container for the wafers.  This case is empty but we do have an Air Ministry Holy water bottle listed on the site.  Click this link to view. Rare to find. Stock code C19701.
