Bakelite multi-button/line telephone as used in wartime Operations Rooms. This is the rarer wall-mounted variant with a rectangular base, single row of 5 push buttons and chromed metal card holder for 5 related numbers. They were also produced with double rows of 5 buttons. Generally in good condition bar a small chip in the base and hairline cracks on the handset. There is also some paint loss on the receiver cradle and paint splatter elsewhere. With original cotton braided handset cord and internal wiring. No history or evidence of use by the RAF but certainly of the type and makes a marvellous display. Needs a good clean and could have a deep shine/lustre with some effort. Stock code M27469.
