Stores reference 21B/654. Clock, bracket, large.  Generally referred to as a Sergeants' Mess mantle clock.  Solid 'flat topped' oak case with bun feet and rear access door.  Fitted with a high quality 1941 dated F W Elliott  single fusee 8-day movement.  20cm/8" silvered convex dial with engraved Roman numerals and King's crown RAF crest infilled with black wax.  Spun brass bezel with convex glass and button release.  The movement is signed, dated and numbered '17438'.  The original case was a complete write-off so a new one has been made by a cabinet maker who has stayed close to the original specifications and proportions.  The bezel is also new.  The Elliott movement has been carefully cleaned and serviced.  It retains the original fusee chain which has not been substituted for a modern phosphor bronze wire replacement.  The pendulum weight looks like it has been under the sea for years but it functions perfectly and the clock is in excellent working condition. Super original dial and filigree hands.

These are large imposing clocks that really make a statement in a room. They also sound great.  Not entirely original but a beautiful clock nonetheless.  Due to the size, weight and delicate nature of clocks collection is advisable.  That said we can ship worldwide and will pack with care.  Stock code C22101.
