By John Rabone & Sons of Birmingham. 100' Surveyors' tape measure. Leather cased with brass fittings and very neat fold-out/hinged winding knob. Marked as 'Rabone's Metallic Wired Tape' the actual measure is marked in feet/inches one side and metric on the reverse. The case is sound but in worn/used condition with some soiling, marks and blemishes. We haven't pulled the tape out all the way but what we have seen is in very good condition. The case is also Air Ministry (A. Crown M.) embossed with a 1941 date. This is the type of measure used for marking out foundations/buildings and could have been used in R.A.F. station building and runway construction work among many other possibilities. A lovely item in quite good used condition. Stock code M20669.
