War, Service Dress, Blouse.  Size 5 (Ht. 5'5" - 5'6", Br. 36 - 37", Wt. 32").  By S. L. & M. Feathers Ltd., 1944 dated.  Standard battledress blouse with Squadron Leader rank lace, superb padded pilot wing manufactured with oatmeal coloured thread, and a DFC ribbon.  The jacket has about five moth holes on the back and a larger one below the left pocket but is quite clean and displays very well.  Purchased directly from the family of Squadron Leader Ivan Lancelot Teortius Ackroyd DFC & bar (450921) RAFVR.  He flew Mosquitos with 105 Squadron Bomber Command and was involved in an accident on 22nd February 1945 when on an intruder sortie.  He and his navigator, Flying Officer Ernest Frederick Casey RAVR, took off at 1740hrs from RAF Bourn in Cambridgeshire but ran out of fuel at 32,000'.  They succesfully abandoned the Mosquito B Mk.XVI, RV298 at 2140hrs, their aircraft crashing south-east of Bruges.  Stock code U23220.
