Stores Ref. 22/69 One of the classic 'Battle of Britain' pattern goggles. The frame retains a good proportion of the original paint finish with only light rubbing and wear on exposed points. All of the frame screws are original and one of the frame 'stops' remains in place. The leather surrounds are generally quite good and retain some suppleness. As usual there is hardening of the internal padding and variable patination to the leather but other than a few nicks and scuffs, no damage or repairs. The lenses have light marking and scratching but are in excellent overall condition. The strap springs are all complete, undamaged and in very good condition. The leather strap section has some surface wear. It has Air Ministry marks and 1935 or 1936 date code - slighlty faint and tricky to be certain which. These are true Ministry issue rather than the more commonly found Candian version. Very good used overall. Stock code G19245.
