Stores reference 22/69. One of the classic 'Battle of Britain' pattern goggles. The frame is good bar a slgiht twist, some rubbing and paint loss on exposed points. All of the frame screws are original and one frame 'stop' remains in place. The leather surrounds look ok from the front but they are heavily creased at the back and the internal padding has hardened. The nosepiece is supple but does have surface wear. The original lenses have surface scuffs/scratches and have shrunk slightly but display very well. All of the strap springs are excellent but their cloth covering is soiled/faded. The leather strap section remains strong but has some wear with a couple of surface splits as shown. The strap is faintly embossed with Air Ministry King's crown, reference markings and 1939 date code. A good pair of British manufacture MK.III goggles. Much harder to find than their RCAF counterpart. Stock code G26156.
