Stores Ref. 22/397. One of the classic 'Battle of Britain' pattern goggles. The frame retains much of the original paint finish but there is some chipping, rubbing and wear. All of the frame screws are original and both frame 'stops' are in place. The leather surrounds are generally quite good and retain suppleness - as usual there is some hardening of the internal padding and variable patination to the leather but no serious damage or repairs. The lenses have light marking and scratching but are quite good overall. The strap springs are all complete, undamaged and in excellent condition. The leather strap section has some surface wear. It has faint RCAF markings and 1942 date. The owner's service number and initials are marked on the rear of the strap. Good to very good used overall. Stock code G16760.
