Sheet 2, Newcastle To Prague.  1944 dated.  Printed on paper.  Approximately 40 x 34cm.  Shows much of the coastline from South Eastern England up to Newcastle and parts of France, Belgium and Western Germany.  Captain of Aircraft Maps are smaller than other route and plotting maps and were intended for use within the cockpit.  This map is marked up and the timings match with a daylight raid on Hamburg on 31st March 1945.  A total of 469 aircarft (361 Lancasters, 100 Halifaxes & 8 Mosquitoes) of 1, 6 and 8 Groups attacked the Blohm & Voss shipyards where U-boats were being assembled.  Unfortunately cloud obscured the target area and damage was caused to housing and factories over a wide area.  After the bombs were dropped there is a note on the map of a Me262 attack and 'icing'.  Moderate soiling, some creasing and has been folded but in reasonably good condition for something that was actually used on a bombing sortie.  Stock code P21873-118.
