By Perry Sportswear Inc. of Newburgh, New York. Marked as a size 44 and has a physical external pit to pit (x2) measurement of about 45". This classic A-2 flying jacket is one from the company's W535ac 27618 42-16175P contract of 23rd May 1942. Seal brown horsehide with a matching cotton lining. The leather is in excellent overall condition bar some light scuffing and abrasion, mainly on the upper arms/shoulders, epaulettes and collar. The latter is slightly distorted at the back due to poor storage but this should be reversible with a little effort (see the final photograph). There are two small patched holes, one on the lower left side as worn, the other on the left breast adjacent to the arm seam. Neither of these detract from the overall look of the jacket that appears to be strong, and remains very supple. Complete with all the usual A-2 features including the collar snaps and hook, leather hanger and underarm vents. The jacket appears to have the original lining, the majority of which is very good, but it does have wear, holes and some repairs. Most of this is situated at the collar, lower part of the right side of the zip (as worn), and lower edge. The jacket retains the original leather hanger and taffeta weave label, the latter quite worn but legible. The original zip functions well and the slider is complete with a leather puller tab. The cuffs and waistband also appear to be original and aside from a few small stitched repairs, are excellent. Small holes are evident on the epaulettes where rank insignia has been removed. Please note that the main photographs make the jacket look shinier that it really is. With some leather dressing it could no doubt be made to look more like that if desired. A very good solid A-2.
