Unknown maker. Size 38R (measures approximately 22" from armpit to armpit). Classic jacket with a slightly two-tone finish in dark seal brown leather with lighter sleeve panels and pocket. The majority of the leather is in very good condition retaining flexibility, a super finish and little of the usual crazing and surface peel associated with American shearling jackets. However, there are a few areas that have issues. These include a truly hideous replacement zip (broken) that needs removing and replacing with something more in keeping. There is a repaired tear towards the base of the front left panel adjacent to the zip and two more repairs near the top of the zip on each side. There is some thinning of the leather near the top of the front right panel but most of the leather appears to be quite robust. The jacket retains the front patch pocket, excellent supple straps/buckles at the waist and collar, leather hanger and label with 1943 contract date. The fur lining is also very good. This is a reasonably good looking jacket and would make a great display piece. It would be twice the price in better condition. A bargain! Stock code J23653.
