Classic AAF flying jacket manufactured in dark seal brown shearling leather with horsehide leather arm panels. Unfortunately it does have some issues. Although the leather is generally very supple the front lower right panel and both rear upper panels (as worn) have significant puncture damage/tears. The right arm also has a tear and the cuff end is torn/ragged with old failed repairs. There are other minor holes on the jacket and the zip has been replaced. On the positive side this is an old British D-o-T Irvin type zip, both collar and waist straps and buckles are good and supple (one of the former partially unstitched) and the jacket retains its label, leather hanger and the lining is very good. To repair properly would require careful patching and/or the introduction of new panels but despite the damage, this jacket displays reasonably well. At worst is would make a donor jacket and has many useful spare parts and good leather panels plus a highy desirable and valuable Irvin zip (hence the non bargain basement price tag).
