Jacket, Flying, Man's, Intermediate, AN6552. By H. & L. Block. Size 40" (physically measures approximately 44" ). Rare Contract No. N288s-20559 for which production only ran for about 6 months. Manufactured in seal brown goatskin with a deep crimson rayon/nylon lining. The leather is in excellent overall condition, strong and clean with only minor wear marks. Clear strong 'US' mark stenciled to the rear of the collar. Stitched underam vent holes rather than the later metal eyelets. Original knits throughout are very good with only a few small stitched repairs. Very good soft genuine mouton fur collar with light wear on the fold and collar 'points'. With buttoned collar closure strap. The original blackened brass Talon zip is fully functional and complete with leather puller tag. The original lining has a central double pleated panel, unique to the Block contract. It is a little worn, discoloured and soiled with a number of small stitched repairs but overall condition is quite good. Complete with tafetta weave label and leather hanger. The M-6552 is essentially an early version of the G-1 but so much rarer and of higher quality manufacture. A really lovely jacket. Stock code J25029.
