Size 40.  The M-442 was standardized by the U.S. Navy Bureau of Aeronautics in March 1940 and redesignated as the M-422A in October 1941 following the addition of a pencil pocket within the left pocket. Manufactured from thick, dark seal brown vegetable tanned hide.  As per original specification it is fitted with two button flapped patch pockets (the left complete with concealed pen pocket), bi-swing back, knitted cuffs and waistband, ventilated underarm gussets, brass zip and fur faced collar with buttoned closure strap.  It has a deep red rayon satin lining and one internal pocket with press stud closure.  Overall condition is very good.  The leather is very strong and other than the odd small scuff, undamaged. Confirmed by Ken Calder at Aero Leather as dating from 1984 or 1985.  These retail new for £670 so bag yourself a bargain.  Ready to wear. Stock code J24399.
