Suit, Summer, Flying AN6550-M-40. Manufactured by S.J. Zulli Inc. Size 40 medium but measures approximately 44" at the chest (pit to pit, zipped) and 38" at belt height. Introduced in April 1943 to replace the A-4, this is a lightweight one-piece zip-fronted olive drab green gabardine suit with buttoned, flapped pockets at the chest and lower legs. Buttoned ankle straps. The cloth is in excellent clean condition showing very little wear or use. One small repair on the leg otherwise damage free. Original brass Talon zip and belt. Faded colour AAF stamp on the left shoulder and white AAF stamp inside. Perhaps the most widely used suit by the AAF during WW2. A superb example. Stock code S25319.
