Suit-Flying, Very Light, Cotton Twill, Type K-1.  Size Medium Long (38-40) by Davis Sportswear Inc.  The K-1 was standardised in November 1944.  It was similar in appearance to the earlier AN-S-31, a one-piece khaki cotton twill suit with two-way zipped front.  It had a pleated back which allowed greater freedom of movement and also featured zips at the leg ends to aid donning of the suit.  In addition it had angled zipped breast pockets and zipped pockets to the thighs and lower legs.  A pen pocket was fitted to the left upper arm, and the cuffs and waist had button adjustment.  This example also has a leather covered map holder attached to the left thigh.  The suit presents well but is a bit faded and has a number of small stitched repairs as shown and damage to the top few centimetres of the main zip (it works fine up to that point and isn't really an issue when displayed.  All original, the 'Talon' zips are otherwise in good working order.  Remnants of the leather covered/sprung map holder 'flap' remain on the left thigh.   With original cloth hanger, label and very faded AAF stamps inside and on the left shoulder.  One of the less commonly found AAF flying suits.
