Code: M22873-240
Small brass metal badge in the form of a RAF Spitfire fighter. Approximately 3.5cm wingspan. The wings have roundels and wording 'SPITFIRE' across them. Button hole type fixing to rear. Badges like this were first sold for fundraising purposes during the summer of 1940 as a result of publicity generated by the Ministry of Aircraft production. Arbitary figures for the cost of aircraft were published and each badge sold went to towards that amount. Good used. Stock code M22873-240.
