Scarce white metal badge with printed paper design and celluloid film covering. Pin backed. Approximately 25mm diameter. Illustrated with a blue Spitfire fighter and wording 'SPITFIRE FUND'. Individually marked with a unique serial number, '4439' in this case. Light soiling and wear to the front, minor surface corrosion on the rear but in very good used condition. Lapel badges such as this were sold during WW2 in return for a donation towards the funding/purchase of a Spitfire. Stock code M22408.
