LkpN101 flying helmet. The famous 'net-top' helmet proved popular with Luftwaffe aircrews as it was designed for comfort and without the restriction of a chinstrap. This example is the later variant having attachment points for 3-strap oxygen masks. It has light brown leather earcups with dark banding and 'mesh'. All of the leather parts and straps are very good. The netting/mesh is near complete and generally very good but does have a few small holes - see photos. The avionics are comprised of round Mi4b magnetic type throatmicrophones and four-pole break coupling/plug. The loom is non-standard and looks more like a British cotton braided cable but appears to have been properly attached. Both receivers and plastic 'soundboards' are present, the latter have some cracks/damage. The shearling lining is quite good, the chamois lining parts are a bit grubby. Label removed. A good display helmet. Stock code H20832.
