Luftwaffe model 10-67 oxygen mask

Luftwaffe model 10-67 oxygen mask

Code: O24853

SOLD

Manufactured by Auer in Berlin, the 10-67 was designed to combat the problem of freezing of expelled air at altitude without the need for electrical heating, and the expiratory valve was concealed within the mask alleviating the problem.  The 10-67 was produced with 3-point mask attachment and had an extended lining to provide extra draught protection between mask and helmet.  The facepiece of this example is manufactured in green rubber, retains very good shape and flexibility and has designation/manufacturer/size marks (Gr.2/size 2).  Both horizontal straps are in place and look very good but the forehead strap has been removed at some point.  The lining has either been replaced or trimmed as it lacks the extended section.  Fitted with an AAF corrugated tube and would look much better if replaced with the correct type.  Incomplete and would benefit from some sympathetic work but the facepiece is a very good example and the mask displays well.  All Luftwaffe oxygen equipment is scarce.  Priced accordingly.  Stock code O24853.
