AP1578C 1st edition. Original copy dated 12/42 (amended to January 1943). Approximately 34 pages with additional pullout diagrams/photographs. Covers fuel and oil systems; hydraulics; aircraft controls; engine controls; cockpit accommodation and equipment; operational equipment and controls; navigational, signalling and lighting equipment; emergency equipment and controls. The illustrations cover various views of the cockpit, diagrams of the fuel system, parachute exits etc. These early notes have 'orange' covers and are of loose-leaf format with split rings as shown, later editions were of the standard blue fixed/stapled covers.
These are from our own collection and originally came from a Spitfire/Hurricane/Mustang pilot who was based at Vaernes, an ex Luftwaffe base in Norway towards the end of the war. Not sure why he had them but we purchased a huge amount of kit from him over 30 years ago and have decided they are surplus to our requirements. Overall condition is very good to excellent.
