Broadly similar to a British issue type E, manufactured in unlined tan cotton aertex and fitted with squat rubber carriers for the receivers. Two buckled straps and a central buckled strap at the back for goggle retention. Large felt covered ear 'donut' cushions inside. It would have been fitted with a leather chincup, secured via buckles on each side of the face opening but this is absent. The cloth is in very good condition but is a little soiled/marked. One receiver carrier has a small split as shown and one of the chinstrap securing buckled straps has been repaired. These helmets were externally wired, albeit with an internal type telephone cord (loom). This one is fitted with an excellent 'heavy gauge' dark chocolate/plum coloured telephone cord, type 32 receivers, 2-pin microphone plug and black type 119 bell plug. Wiring was often attached via press studs - including one on the top rear of the helmet to keep the loom out of the way/neat. This one has been partially sewn into position as shown. Labelled inside.
