Extremely rare RAAF Dominion Parachute manufactured by The Light Aircraft Pty. Ltd. of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Two point quick connector chest pack. Attaches to the observer-type harness by the engagement of a pair of steel loops with a pair of hooded snap-hooks located on the chest. Manufactured in a sandy coloured plain weave duck canvas. It is complete with all the webbing grab handles, rip-cord flap and rip-cord handle housing. The cotton label is R.A.A.F. and maker marked with the 'I Jump To Live' parachuting kangaroo logos, erial number '9489' and production date, 13th OCT 1944. The pack is in excellent clean condition and fitted with the original/correct metalwork for attaching to the harness, correctly stitched to prevent accidental extraction. There is also a full set of correct/unique Australian bungee cords and the ripcord/handle. The pack comes complete with its original matched parachute bag, also manufactured by The Light Aircraft Pty. Ltd. and marked with the same matching serial number. All original parachute equipment is becoming very difficult to find, Australian Air Force parachutes are among the rarest of all to find and this example is in superb overall condition.
