By J.H.T.D. Stores Reference 15A/141 (with canopy). Two point quick connector chest pack. Attaches to the Observer type harness by the engagement of a pair of steel loops with a pair of hooded snap-hooks located on the chest. This example is manufactured in the usual sandy coloured plain weave duck canvas. It is complete with all the webbing grab handles, rip-cord flap and rip-cord handle housing. The cotton label is marked 'Observer Type' with a War Department broad arrow, stores reference code and manufacturer code 'J.H.T.D./43'. The pack is in excellent condition bar light soiling and some wear to the label. It is fitted with the original/correct metalwork for attaching to the harness, correctly stitched to prevent accidental extraction. There is also a full set of bungee cords and the ripcord/handle. The pack comes complete with its original matched canopy, this was also manufactured by J.H.T.D., is both Air Ministry and War Department broad arrow marked and dated February 1945. The rigging lines are correctly attached to the parachute 'rings' within the pack. The photographs of the canopy were taken prior to our purchase. All original parachute equipment is becoming very difficult to find. The first complete Observer pack we've been able to offer for some years. Stock code SDFGF3.
