By Switlik Canadian Parachute Ltd., Ontario, Canada. This is a standard 'Observer' harness for use with clip on chest-type parachute packs. Cream/white webbing without a central fleck. It has a standard fully-rounded WW2 RAF type quick release (QR) box. Stamped with maker's details, 9-43 manufacture date and other inspection marks. The webbing is in very good undamaged condition with only light soiling through normal use. The risers have yellow panels added in a similar way to those found on USAAF Group 2 'Yellow' harnesses. The QR box functions correctly and all metalwork is very good. Fitted with dual anchorage 'rings' at the back for securing the airman in flight and use with dinghy packs etc. Also comes with a RCAF issue backpad in excellent condition and has an attached RCAF stores serviceability inspection label c.December 1943. These Canadian harnesses were manufactured to the same pattern as standard RAF examples but do not have a central 'fleck' stitched into the webbing and generally have higher quality metal components. All parachute equipment is increasingly difficult to find now. An excellent example. Stock code S25537.
