Notes for the iconic Lancaster Aircraft, AVRO Type '683' MK.I & III. Published by A.V.Roe & Co. Ltd., Manchester, January 1945.  Card covers, 14.5 x 22.5cm.  Approximately 35p plus around 13 pullout diagram/charts at the back. The book covers fuel and oil systems; aeroplane controls; engine controls; handling; operating data; emergency procedures etc. The diagrams include the instrument panel, hydraulics, fuel system, turret hydraulics etc.  Each copy was marked as 'Confidential', covered by the official secrets act and had an individual reference number, 8231 in this case.  The cover is sound but soiled, creased and dog-eared at the edges with some card absent on the spine.  The pages are generally good though yellowed (more so than double page spread photos indicate - please see detail photographs for truer colour).  Some damage to the pullout charts where folded but not bad and easily repaired with archival tape. Named to Flying Officer J. Grimwood at RAF Coningsby.  Excellent research material.  Stock code P22882.
