RAF Bomber Command night raid report No.710.  Covers the period 9/10th September 1944 for night attacks by the RAF on Munchen Gladback, Brunswick and the airfield at Steenwijk.  4 sheets that detail the targets, plan of attack, number of sorties/aircraft involved, weather forecast, day reconnaissance, results of the raids, enemy defences, casualties etc.  This information is also found in table form and there is a map showing the routes taken to/from the targets.  113 Lancasters and 24 Mosquitoes of 5 & 8 Groups (137 total) attacked the city causing serious damage to the town centre, textile works, engineering and armament works and other industrial premises without loss.  Enemy aircraft were sighted but none of them attacked.  39 Mosquitoes from 8 Group accurately attacked Brunswick and successful runs were made against Steenwijk airfield.  Bomber support sorties and other patrols were also undertaken.  Copy No. '12'.  The paper is yellowed and has lightly dog-eared edges/corners.  Interesting original documents relating to Bomber Command sorties over Germany.  Stock code P27183-46.
