Instruction book for Messier Aircraft Equipment fitted to the Halifax MK.III, 2nd edition incorporating information on Halifax bomber Mks. I, II, VI & VII. It covers the main landing gear comprising two backward retracting undercarriages, the retractable fixed tail wheel and hydraulic equipment for retracting the main and tail wheels as well as for operating the landing flaps, wing and fuselage bomb doors, landing lamp and carburettor air intake. The book briefly covers the operation and description of the hydraulic components, their maintenance, lists of tools and equipment etc. Illustrated throughout. A note in the front cover states that 'This booklet is issued for personal information on the strict understanding that its contents are not divulged to third parties'. The staples are rusty, the front cover has some surface paper loss and is a little dog-eared. Internal pages are very good. Stock code P181867.
