Air Ministry drawings blueprint.  Fighter Operations Block, Protected Roof Design - Air Filtration And Ventilation Plant.  Dated 9th February 1938.  Approximately 100 x 66cm.  Scale 1/4" to 1 foot.  An extraordinarily rare original blueprint for a RAF fighter operations block dating from the period when airfield construction had been increased prior to the outbreak of war.  It shows the plan and sections of the various rooms including the OPs room, receiving room, meteorlogical and traffic office, DF plotting room, telephone and teleprinter room, battery and plant rooms etc.  The layout of the metal air ducting and grilles is shown throughout the block.  Unfortunately condition is very poor with sections showing historic insect damage which has caused loss of paper as seen.  The blueprint has been folded and creased, has some fragility on these folds, dog-eared edges and corners and various old taped repairs to the rear.  Ideally this needs flattening out and framing to stabilise the paper and prevent further damage.  We've never seen anything relating to the contruction of RAF Ops room buildings before and probably won't see anything again.  Stock code P27815.
