P/b, 12 x 18cm., 116p, 1942. 'Modern Languages For The Services, No.2, German From Scratch, Bill Und Jock In Deutschland'. Issued from Chessington & later Cobham RAF Stations. 'Written on unorthodox lines' and 'Intended to enable the adult student of the Forces to acquire an elementary knowledge of German in the shortest possible time'. The book was compiled to enable the British soldier to acquire in about 20 lessons sufficient German to make his way in Germany.

Reading the annotations within the pages this particular copy appears to have been used by a member of the occupying forces in Germany post-war but the print date is February 1942 and the library stamp date is also 1942. Some fading and annotation. Good overall. Stock code P16876.
