Messerschmitt Me 163B. Identification/Recognition Poster Issue 1 - November 1944. Approximately 38 x 56cm. Printed by Fosh and Cross Ltd. on fairly thin paper. Shows the silhouette of this infamous German fighter from the front, underside and side. The 163 'Komet' being the only rocket propelled interceptor ever to be used operationally. With some creasing and quite a few small edge tears that have been repaired using specialist ultra-thin acid-free archival tape that does not yellow, crack or harden and can be removed by a conservator. There is also an ink stain and some paper loss at the edges as seen. Reasonable condition only but displays well. These would have been used in training schools and were also displayed in Mess huts on active RAF bases. Will be posted in a card mailing tube. Stock code P25524.
