H/b ring bound flip cards. Approx. 11 x 16cm. January 1945. Marked 'For Official Use Only'. Produced for ferry pilots by the headquarters, Transport Command. As Ferry pilots had to deliver a wide range of different aircraft types these were designed to be a memory aid for use 'after the pilot has made himself familiar with the particular type of aircraft by carebeen converted to the particular type of aircraft.' Cards for new/different aircraft and amendments/alterations could easily be added as necessary. This set includes amongst others the 'Avenger, Battle, Blenheim, Beaufighter, Corsair, Dakota, Defiant, Fortress II & III, Hellcat, Hurricane & Sea Hurricane, Halifax, Lysander, Lancaster I, II, III & X, Liberator, Mustang, Mosquito, Spitfire & Seafire, Stirling, Typhoon, Whitley IV, V & VII, Wildcat, Wellington, Walrus and many others.
Has evidently been damp to one side leaving marking to the cover and some internal pages. The rings that would have held the notes together are missing so they are currently presented within a ring binder. The punched holes at the top of each sheet have had paper reinforcement stickers applied. These were used by Flight Lieutenent John Bryan Stonier who actually flew with bomber command during WW2. Purchased directly from his widow. Rare to find. Stock code P15793.
