A.P. 2762. The Type Q Dinghy Instructions for a ditched crew. Prepared by direction of the Minister of Aircraft Production. 1st Edition, December 1943. P/b, approximately 13.5 x 15.5cm. 31pp. Very scarce instruction booklet providing details of the immediate action to be undertaken upon boarding the dinghy, from holding the dinghy alongside the aircraft until the crew have boarded to erecting the mast, using the kite/transmitter, fishing, dinghy drills and general sailing information. Printed on some sort of proofed/waxed paper. It has a distinctive colour and feel with some creasing and marking but is generally in good order. The type Q was 16' long and equipped with a 16' high twin sectional telescopic mast accommodating a mainsail and smaller foresail. Crucially, unlike the earlier J-type, it also had a canvas keel and rudder enabling it to be steered with greater accuracy. Stock code P15904.
