WW2 period King's crown Air Inspectorate Division lapel badge with button hole type fixing. Red and black enamel on brass. Approximately 2.2cm tall and 1.7cm wide. Worn by members of the A.I.D. who during WW2 were tasked with ensuring that all RAF and RN equipment manufactured or repaired by contractors and by RAF maintenance units was constructed to approved designs and was fit and serviceable for issue.
