Excellent heavily padded Royal New Zealand Air Force pilot wing in off-white cotton thread on black felt. Fine black hessian/cotton backing. Three small press studs have been stitched to the rear to allow the wing to be attached and removed from a uniform easily. This was often done with wings & insignia used on tropical uniforms that required frequent laundering. This example also appears to have been sewn to a uniform at some stage as can be seen with the loose threads at the edges. Very good condition. A desirable wing. Stock code U23094.
