Gauntlets, flying, 1941 pattern. Stores reference 22c/765-5. Size 9.5/10. The leather shows use and wear but isn't damaged and retains good flexibility. Original Air Ministry marked zips with leather puller tabs. Both zips have some verdigris deposits, the left one works well but the right slider has seized in the closed position. It might be possible to free this but we'll leave that decision to the buyer. Fairly clean linings complete with King's crown Air Ministry, size stamps amd one A.I.D. mark. Left and right hand gloves were made in separate factories to combat theft but this pair is a reasonably good colour match and although mismatched in terms of size, came directly from the veteran's family. He flew as Navigator on Lancaster bombers with 207 Squadron between 1944 and 1947, flying from RAF Jurby (Isle of Man), North Luffenham, Lindholme and Stradishall. The gauntlets come with basic details and 2 photocopy photos. A good used pair. Stock code GA20537.
