Gauntlets, flying, 1941 pattern. Stores reference 22c/758. Size 9. The leather is in very good clean flexible condition and the colour match is also good. Remember that the left and right hands were made in separate factories. Some wear on the fingers /palms, notably the right gauntlet. While both 'Flash' zips are original and function well, the one in the right gauntlet has been replaced at some point. The left retains the original leather puller tab. The glove linings are clean and clearly marked with size, Air Ministry and A.I.D. stamps. Both have the owner's name and service number marked. Flight Sergeant William Joseph Sherwood RAFVR joined up in Birmingham in 1942, served as a Navigator in North Africa between March 1944 and July 1945 and was discharged April 1947. A good used pair.
