Manufactured by Siebe Gorman & Co. Ltd. Gloves, Flying, Electrically Heated, 24 Volt. Stores reference 22c/107/8. Size 8.5. Mid forearm length chestnut brown suede gauntlets with elasticated cuff and an adjustable wrist strap with press stud fastening. The glove wiring terminates at a black plastic 2-pin socket (stores reference 5c/457) which could be connected to the plug on an electrically wired thermally insulated 'Irvin' flying jacket. A 'Lift-the-dot' fastener could also be attached to the metal 'post' of the same jacket to help keep it in place and prevent the plug from accidental release. Overall condition is excellent. The suede is beautifully soft and quite clean with large Air Ministry King's crown stamps. Both straps are equally good and the wiring/plugs are complete. With issue labels. Please note that this is not a true pair, both being 'left' handed (as are those shown on p105 of Mick Prodger's excellent book). The rarest of all RAF gloves, so rare that this is probably the only chance you will have to own them and if cunningly displayed it isn't immediately obvious that they aren't a pair.
