Stores reference 22c/880, size 4 (71/2 - 73/4). The leather is very supple but has wear/rubbing, mainly on the side panels. This helmet is very unusual in having leather earpieces that have been custom made to cover the rubber receiver carriers and accommodate Gosport earpieces. All the goggle straps are good and the studs retain virtually all of their original coatings. The chinstrap has been replaced with a simple piece of black elastic with the press stud section of the original strap sewn at the end. The lining is reasonably clean but there are a couple of small holes. Gosport earpieces and tubes fitted in lieu of wiring and receivers, the latter lacking any cotton sheathing at the upper ends as shown. An interesting helmet, probably modified for use in a Tiger Moth or similar. Reasonably good overall condition. Stock code H27552.
