Stores Ref. 22c/879, Size 3. The leather is in excellent condition with virtually all of the original chromed finish remaining. The centre panels are the usual dark brown but the side panels are made in a more russett coloured leather giving a slight two-tone appearance. All straps are good and retain most of the original coatings on the press studs. The lining is generally very clean indicating only light use. The rubber receiver carriers are excellent and completely flexible. The chinstrap also retains excellent colour and good elasticity. Fully wired with a light tan coloured loom, 10A/13466 receivers and black cased bell jackplug. The helmet has embossed reference numbers (22/879) and also a later ink stamped reference number inside, 22c/1097. This refers to the Type C* flying helmet for use in aircraft fitted with early ejection seats during the late 1940s. As a 'Type C*' the helmet would have been wired with a short loom, Connector Type 2808, which we have included should the buyer wish to convert swap. This loom came with the helmet and is in excellent condition. A super example of this extremely rare variant. Stock code H21074.
