RAF C-type Flying Helmet - 1st Late Pattern
Stores Ref. 22c/878. Size 2. The leather is in excellent clean and supple condition. All straps are equally good and retain all of the original coatings on the press studs. The lining is exceptionally clean without wear or damage. The rubber receiver carriers are good but have lost some flexibility and the right one has a small split, possibly as a result of the receiver being fitted. The chinstrap has good colour and elasticity. Fully wired with a mid tan coloured loom, matched 10A/13466 receivers and black cased bell jackplug. Minor soft verdigris deposits on some metal components but this is easy to remove. Probably unissued/unused. This is the early internally wired pattern of c-type of definite wartime manufacture. Overall this is a very good '+' to excellent helmet. Stock code H18552.
