RAF C-type flying helmet, 1st pattern internally wired

Code: CWH-3

SOLD

Stores reference 22c/878, size 2 (67/8 -7).  The leather is very supple but feels a little dry and has scuffing and some abrasion with some light surface peel at the crown.  The goggle straps are quite good and the press studs retain a reasonable amount of their original coatings.  The lining is undamaged and has less than average soiling but some patchy staining.  Both rubber receiver carriers are quite supple, the chinstrap is rather stretched and faded with little elasticity remaining. Wired with a light tan coloured loom,  receivers and black cased bell jackplug, all in very good condition although the 2-pin microphone plug isn't secured in place.  A little worn looking and would no doubt improve with careful application of leather dressing.  A decent example of the rarer first pattern early internally wired C-type of definite wartime manufacture.   Stock code CWH-3.
