RESERVED

Stores reference 22c/583, size 3 (71/8 - 73/8).  Cotton drill helmet incorporating a neck flap at the rear to provide sun protection.  Intended for use in tropical/desert climates in the Middle East, Mediterranean, North Africa etc.  This relatively rare intermediate pattern helmet is externally wired and has brass press studs but is fitted with the later webbing chinstrap normally associated with later internally wired examples.  The material is in very good to excellent relatively clean condition with just one small repair (see photographs).  With Air Ministry King's crown and stores code markings.  The straps are equally good and all retain most of their original finish on the press stud fasteners.  The rubber receiver carriers are generally good but have stiffened somewhat, there is a crack in the left hand carrier and some cracking on the right, but nothing that detracts too much.  Lined in off-white satin with the usual chamois donut earpieces, this is all quite clean and in very good order with only slight pulling away around some of the studs.  Full external wiring with a very good light tan type Q instrument cord (loom), type 32 receivers(10A/13466), type 27 carbon microphone (technically a type 28 here) and a black cased type 119 bell jackplug (10H/10991.  The elasticated webbing chinstrap is soiled/faded but retains some colour and a little elasticity.  A really good lightly used helmet.  Stock code H25187.
